So I love avocados on just about everything. I use them on anything I can. They are a great source of potassium. Even more than bananas! There is a laundry list of benefits from avocados. Studies show that consumption of foods high in potassium helps lower blood pressure. Avocados are the "good" fat you hear about. They are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids which raise ‘good’ HDL cholesterol levels and lower ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol levels. Avocados play a role in cancer prevention, helps reduce arthritis pain levels, maintains cardiovascular health, prevents and helps control diabetes, great for the skin, brain health and constipation. So if you're not eating them you may want to reconsider adding them into your diet. I put them in my protein shakes or bowls because they give such a creaminess to them not to mention adding that healthy fat in.
One of my favorite things to make with avocados is guacamole! Oh, my mouth is watering just typing this. Homemade guacamole is the best! Below is a recipe you can follow to enjoy some for yourself along with more info on avocados and what you can pair up with this yummy recipe!
