I have learned in the last few years that it's really all about balance. As a child I was overweight and struggled with weight throughout my teenage years and into my twenties. I started weight watchers when I was about 20 years old. I knew I had a weight problem but didn't know what to do about it. Weight Watchers helped me get on the right track. I started exercising and joined a gym and learned to love it! There are so many different fads as to how to stay healthy. I have learned to apply new healthy habits to my life one day at a time. It can be overwhelming at times but I encourage you to take it one day at a time and apply change in moderation to not get overwhelmed. Chose activities that you enjoy instead of forcing yourself to go to the gym and do the boring treadmill. Eventually you will stop becasue you are not having any fun with it. Change up your routine. Take a jog outside, go for a bike ride, try a spin class, play some basketball, lift weights (you'll love it!). The key is to keep your exercise intersting and have fun!
I am a certified NCCPT Personal Trainer and an AFAA Group Fitness Instructor. I also have a certification in weight management. It's not all about just exercise or diet. It's a combination of both.
