Do you workout regularly and don't see the results you want?

I see people in and out of the gym day after day, month after month and even year after year and they look the same. Is this you? Are you working out every day and never seeing the results you want? There's a couple reasons that seem to be the main problem for this.

1. Doing too much cardio, and not enough resistance training. 2. You think you can eat more because you worked out.

I know alot of people out there think the more cardio the better but that is not the case. If you're spending 1 and 2 hours in the gym doing cardio and not seeing the results you want, it's for a reason. Too much cardio begins to deplete the muscle mass and muscle burns fat! The more muscle you have the more fat you burn! You shouldn't have to spend two hours in the gym working out. If you can workout that long then your workout is probably not hard enough or you're not working your hardest during your workout. We all have time debt so I say give it all you got for an hour and that should be enough if you're working hard! (This does not include those who are training for marathons or other competitions)

Alot of women get concerned about building too much muscle and bulking up. It is not true that you will bulk up if you are strength training. You would have to be training for a body building competition to get that way! Strength training is not equal to body building. Strength training does make you leaner, more toned and helps with weight loss more than cardio.

Muscle takes up less space than fat so adding muscle can make you smaller. Muscle burns fat! It requires about an extra 50 calores a day to function so when you add muscle mass you burn more calories. Alot of women want to tone but don't want to build muscle. Toning is building muscle! Women cannot bulk up like a body builder if you are strength training. It's just not how our bodies were designed.

Now to address the thought of being able to eat anything because you exercised. It takes alot of work to burn off a slice of pizza or a serving of french fries or bowl of ice cream. You may need to eat more calories with exercise but that doesn't give you the freedom to eat any kind of calories you want. I find that most of my clients don't even get half the amount of fruits and vegetables they need daily. Fill up on the good stuff! Try to add veggies in at every meal and snack. Add them into your breakfast wtih an egg white omelett or a loaded veggie sandwich or wrap for lunch and don't be shy at dinner with veggies on your plate. They will help give you the amount of fiber you need daily as well. If you are looking to lose weight you can't JUST workout. You have to adjust your diet as well, but diet AND exercise will enhance your results. If you think you can just work off what you eat you won't see the results you're looking for.

If you truly want to see your legs shape, your arms tone and your abs show, you cannot JUST diet. You have to change your routine. Combine a one hour HARD workout with a balanced diet and you WILL see results!

I love helping people achieve thier goals! Contact me if you are ready to see some results!

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
